That Time I: Caught a hawk.

I live in the middle of nowhere now and it isn’t uncommon for me to free a ptarmigan or dodge a bear. This past summer, a cougar pounced on a child in the park my family frequents. Being so close to nature makes one forget that it isn’t everywhere, like in the city.

But there was a time when I lived in the city. From the time I was 19 to the time I was 32, I lived in the heart of or just outside the heart of downtown Seattle where birds are so novel, people feed pigeons.

In 2001, was living in Beltown and working in the Terminal Sales Building. Everyone in my office had little errands we were in charge of, I was often tasked with meeting snacks.

I was on such an errand when a hawk fell on me. So I caught it.
